Veolia Germany is one of the country’s leading environmental service providers, offering solutions in waste management, water services, and energy supply. With around 12,000 employees across 250 locations, the company supports municipalities, industry, and businesses in using resources more efficiently and advancing circular-economy practices, reaching millions of people through its services.

As Veolia’s operations and customer base continued to grow, its self-developed waste management system, which is deployed at the sites of manufacturing customers, increasingly reached its limits. It was no longer able to support a holistic waste management approach or meet the diverse requirements of a wide range of customers. At the same time, maintaining a transparent tariff structure became more complex, highlighting the need for a more scalable and flexible solution.

In response, Veolia set out to establish a data-driven foundation that would go beyond simply replacing the existing system. The objective was to gain deeper insights into waste streams to identify efficiency gains, reduce waste volumes, and recover valuable resources hidden within production processes. This is where eNature (eN), developed by Axians, comes into play as a digital solution that collects, structures, and analyzes waste data, enabling transparent and optimized waste management across production sites.

With eNature, we have found a software solution that complements our customers’ Total Waste Management and, based on reliable data, provides full transparency over all waste streams at the production site.

The platform adapts flexibly to different customer needs while capturing all relevant data across waste streams. By creating a consistent and reliable data basis, it enables full transparency over waste management processes at production sites and supports a comprehensive Total Waste Management approach.

As a result, Veolia is now able to make more informed decisions based on reliable data and continuously optimize waste management for its customers. The increased transparency provides a clearer understanding of material flows, improves operational efficiency, and strengthens the company’s ability to support sustainable resource use.
