Hochland SE, one of Europe’s leading dairy product manufacturers, operates a complex IT landscape with more than 6,000 employees and over 6,000 IT assets across multiple sites. As digital processes expanded, the company faced increasing challenges in maintaining compliance, documenting data traffic, and protecting sensitive information against growing cyber threats.
To strengthen visibility and ensure secure operations, Hochland sought external security monitoring and incident response. Axians therefore implemented a Managed Security Operations Center (SOC) supported by a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system. The objective was clear: continuous monitoring of IT systems, automated incident reporting, and rapid response to security events.
Thanks to the Managed SOC, our log data is analyzed and enriched with external threat intelligence. When anomalies or potential threats arise, we receive timely alerts that are further qualified by SOC analysts. This allows us to respond quickly and to take appropriate action.
Chief Information Security Officer of Hochland SE
During onboarding, Axians connected numerous log sources from Hochland’s infrastructure and established standardized communication channels for real-time collaboration. The SOC began analyzing millions of log entries per day, automatically classifying events and correlating them with external threat intelligence. Each potential incident is evaluated by experienced SOC analysts, who qualify alerts and deliver actionable recommendations within minutes.
The service operates around the clock, with critical (Priority 1) alerts handled 24/7 by Axians’ continuous staffed Service Center. Every quarter, both teams review performance data during Service Review Meetings, where compliance reports and detection metrics are evaluated against predefined KPIs and recognized frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK. These reviews help continuously refine detection rules and use cases, and to ensure that the Managed SOC evolves with the changing threat landscape.
Since the start of the collaboration, Hochland has achieved measurable improvements in IT security and operational efficiency. If anomalies or threats arise, a SOC analyst with external threat intelligence such as Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), provides clear actionable recommendations to the customer. With transparent monitoring and data-driven insights, Hochland now ensures compliance and business continuity across its global operations.
Through this partnership with Axians, Hochland SE has established a future-proof cybersecurity framework that delivers both protection and peace of mind. Continuous monitoring, expert analysis, and quantifiable results have turned security into an enabler for the company’s ongoing innovation and growth.
