Orange, a leading multinational telecommunications corporation, enlisted Axians to address and tackle technological challenges at the MATMUT Stadium — an iconic French venue renowned for sports events and concerts located in the heart of Bordeaux.

The primary objective was to ensure the uninterrupted maintenance of 3G coverage while facilitating the expansion of the previously established 4G coverage implemented during the Euro 2016 event. The deployment of 5G technology was also considered crucial in anticipation of upcoming sports events.

Axians carried out a replacement of both active and passive equipment. Notably, 38 antennas in the stands were replaced by 40 new ones positioned at 34 meters along the walkways.

A new 4G/5G coverage was established in the stadium’s corridors, lounges, boxes, and press areas, providing enhanced connectivity for all spectators and media.

Thanks to the intervention of Axians and its collaboration with VINCI Facilities, the MATMUT Stadium has managed to remain at the forefront of technology, ensuring a seamless experience for professionals and fans attending sports and music events.
